Play Parks & Family Fun

Postby JFB » Fri Jul 10, 2009 9:44 pm

Hi, I'm just about to move to North Colerne. Could anyone provide any information on the best play parks in the area.

Many thanks.

Hello
You don't say how old your children are, but why not put on your sturdy shoes or boots, get a local OS map, and walk the countryside. There is far more to do and see on a walk (and plenty of footpaths) than visiting a play park, unless of course you like being organised. The country around Colerne (and Box) is very varied and interesting, you will realise how lucky you are.
Best wishes

Unfortunately, North Colerne (I belive your talking about the camp?) only holds 1 play park as such, and its really not very good, a set of swings and a slide. I do not know about inside the camp itself though.

The play park I'm talking about is positioned on the field opposite Laurel Drive. theres also a basketball area on the field.

Unfortunately climbing the trees there was banned some years ago (Bleedin 'Elf 'n' Safety) but, there were 2 particularly good evergreen treees to climb.

There could quite possibly be another on the camp itself, but I doubt it as its a operational army base, and most of the quaters are stationed around the perimiter.

The camp is wak, you would think that children there would have better facilities than the village, but it shows that the whole of colerne is affected by the useless pc lol. Lets hope with the revenue raised from the old school development, then they can fund something! Whats the bets it will be a crap plaque, like the 1 on the market place tree lol. Who wasted money on that?

New equipment at Rec

Postby maddog » Sun Nov 08, 2009 4:17 pm

The Rec will have all new equipment by March 2010. You can snipe at the PC but where the hell do you think they can get the money for any whim you may have. We are taliking £80,000 plus here and it takes time to beg for money. If you want things faster in Colerne then get off your butt and start fund raising, we are in a resession you know, or have you been living on another planet!

Shut up madpussy! Whats the bets all that u just said, will never happen? I would put money on it :@. The pc is run by a bunch of nobs and everyone know of the "recession", but what was done when there was no "recession"....? Nothing! I wont do any fund raising, as we pay council tax and the pc get a cut of that to provide for the community, which a minority, mainly teenagers never see a penny. So dont get quarrelsome with me chump k!

Is PC parish council?

Anyway, guys, I know there are no "official" moderators on here, but don't start a arguement about politics and economies in the middle of a thread posted by someone asking about play parks in north colerne?

Cheers,

Yeah btm, pc is the parish council! And we have to debate these things in what thread the matter is raised. U are obviously new to colerne, so u would be unaware of how children friendly, the village is not. Travel a few miles to box or marshfield and see how differant it is :(

Been living in the village 5 years now :P

Never really bothered with the play parks though. Just not my thing. I do go down the rec once in a while.
